Cakes are celebratory, but lets face it- not everyone is a cake person. They are pretty, but so are cupcakes or macarons. Why make merry over cake if your favorite is pie? Every couple gets to choose which entree they like best, so you should be able to eat your choice dessert as well. The options are endless and deliciously enjoyable, and whatever option you decide on can of course be prettified. Follow tradition and break it all at once by feeding each other your favorite treat. ♥Emily
Happy Hump Day my NWGlamers! Today I bring you a little something to brighten up your week…fireworks! They are bright, colorful and magical, just like your wedding day should be. Although fireworks aren’t the most cost friendly wedding accessory, they are definitely an eye catching one! As the night is winding down, your guests are starting to leave, surprise them all with one more show. Now, not every venue will allow for fireworks, so be sure to check before you get your heart set on them. But if the venue allows and so does your wallet….say yes to fireworks!
Did you know that white was not a popular wedding gown color until the wedding of Queen Elizabeth in 1840? Before her wedding brides wore whatever color they felt comfortable in. Since then, it became a case of “everybody’s doing it” and the color stuck. Today, it is in typical wedding day fashion to let the bride be the only one to lack color, but what if it wasn’t? What if the groom also wore whimsical white? After all it is his day too, let him shine right along with you!

As many of you have probably seen or heard, The Great Gatsby has been recreated and reentered theaters. This was very exciting to me because it happens to be one of my favorite books for its effortlessly poetic prose. So in honor of this, a few words from Fitzgerald.
If I were you, engaged and waiting on a wedding, I would want to just float around on my own little cloud of sweet daydreams. Unfortunately, that is not always possible, but I am offering you that cloud right now… “I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.”
Please, go ahead and be swept off your feet by that poetic cloud of romance. What I am trying to say is there is no better time to enjoy being in love. So do not let this phase slip away in a stressful frenzy.
One more thing. “They slipped briskly into a love from which they never recovered.” My hope is that all of you never fully recover.
Today’s post hits close to home. My older sister is getting married this coming August and she had made a big decision regarding her bridesmaid dresses. With the help of a fabric swatch, she has allowed us to pick our own dress in the respective color she chose. I personally think this is a fantastic idea. With eight bridesmaids, the opinions, styles and body types definitely vary. Although the ultimate decision is still up to my big sis, picking our own style dress makes life a lot easier. Not only are there eight girls, we are all over the country from here in Rhode Island to California and everywhere in between.
My advice to you, take some notes from my sister and allow your girls to pick out their own dress. If you are worried about what they will pick out, make a point to have them send you a picture for your approval. So, what do you think? Will you trust your girls pick out their best dress?
Just wondering, where are you lovebirds going for your honeymoon? Is it absolutely where you have always dreamed of going? Is it a classic or somewhere unique? My parents are currently in Paris having a lovely time for their anniversary. As for me, I am not ashamed to admit my dream honeymoon is to Disney World. Tell us where you are going! Help us all do a little adventuring on this fine Tuesday.
