Real Weddings: Cecile & Travis’s Modern Nautical Wedding at the Ocean House
“We both love New England and its coastal charm,” shared bride Cecile, “so when we got engaged, there was no question that we’d get married there.” Cecile and her sweetheart Travis had their hearts set on getting married on the coast, so when they discovered the ultra-gorgeous Ocean House in Watch Hill, they knew they’d found the venue for them. The ocean-front property, the views for miles, the magical old house, the fabulous, welcoming environment — the place had everything they’d dreamed of and more!
The couple’s big day, captured by Carla Ten Eyck Photography, featured a stylish modern nautical theme, complete with deep navy and light grey hues, and soft pops of pink. After a super sweet first look alone together and some fun portrait on the beach with the maids and the men (we’ve gotta say it — we’re so impressed how the looks put together by Jennie Fresa Makeup and Skincare Boutiquerie really made the girls’ natural beauty shine!), Cecile and Travis said their vows at the venue’s darling chapel. Then, when the I dos, rings, and first kiss were all exchanged, they newlyweds headed back to the beach for a sunset walk together while their guests sipped on cocktails.
Their evening reception was held inside in a cozy area filled with elegant decor and gold chandeliers. With the help of Earth2 Events, round tables were covered with white linens and surrounded by gold Chiavari chairs. hana floral design crafted centerpieces for the couple with white roses, soft pink peonies, and dusty miller. In place of table numbers, Cecile and Travis made fun photo displays that showed off their childhood photos. Table 4 featured photos of them at age 4, and so on… an adorable idea! And, finally, to bring in a nautical feel, the couple chose a white cake with navy stripes by Something Different Cake Couture and created an escort card station out of sand and seashells.
The next morning, the new Mr. and Mrs. surprised their nearest and dearest with a farewell brunch, a personal touch that certainly added a final stamp of perfection to their amazing wedding weekend! Start scrolling, and you’ll see the truth of our claim.
