Real Wedding: Marissa and Matt at Regatta Place

Good Morning Newport Wedding Glamers! In honor of the warmer weather we are supposed to be having today, I thought I would stick with the trend and shed some light on this brutal winter. Today I bring you the wedding of Marissa and Matt who tied the knot this past summer at the Regatta Place in Newport. Envisioning her wedding day to be clean and nautical, Marissa decided to keep the decor to a minimum and let the scenic backdrop do its job, which I have to say it did!

Memories RI Photography captured the day beautifully making sure to pay attention to all of the perfect moments like the bride jumping on the bed with one of her bridesmaids and playing a quick game of baseball with Matt! She said ‘I Do’ in Jenny Yoo and Matt and his men were in a mix of  Tommy Bahama and Brooks Brothers, to keep the day casual and cool. The beautiful yellow bouquets created by Flowers by Alisa, gave just the right pop of color to the bridesmaids J. Crew dresses and Marissa’s gown. From what looked to be their picture perfect day, Matt and Marissa sealed the deal with cupcakes from Sweet and danced the night away to the sounds of Move it Music with their friends and family. A New England summer wedding to the T!

A quote from the bride: “Our wedding day vision: Clean Nautical.  We really wanted our day to be fun and our guests to enjoy themselves.  We requested they come in resort casual attire rather than traditional wedding suits and gowns.  The Regatta Place is so beautiful in its self we kept the décor to a minimum to not take anything away from the scenery the location already provided. Matt and I met in Nashville, TN.  Matt orchestrated a large group of people to head down to celebrate New Years.  He met my best friend in college and threw the invitation out to her.  She asked me and another good friend and we figured why not….  Matt and I totally hit it off.   After the holiday, he went back to MA and I went back to NJ.  We stayed in touch and began dating shortly after.   We did the long distance thing for a couple of years until I moved up north.  One of the first places Matt ever took me was to Newport and I fell in love.  I believe I actually said on our drive home that I would like to be married there.”

Congratulations Marissa and Matt! Thank you for sharing your incredible day with us!

XOXO-Samantha
