Real Celebrations: Caroline & Withers Newport Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

To start the week off with a bang, we have the in depth look at Caroline & Withers Newport Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at The Chanler at Cliff Walk!  As you know it was featured in Grace Ormonde New England Wedding Style Magazine  in a beautiful multi-page spread cover the entire wedding weekend of events.  Raina Dawn Events and Newport Wedding Glam wanted to share with you all of the details, as this was not your typical Rehearsal Dinner!  Hosted by the parents of the groom, all 200+ guests were invited and the planning with the mother-of-the-groom was a blast!  She had extremely unique visions for the event as you will see and really pushed al the vendors to get super creative, and boy did they ever!  It was truly over the top while being elegant and sophisticated with a touch of masculinity for the groom.  So without further ado… here is a glance at this phenomenal event!  Be sure to view the entire gallery for your inspiration all shot by Carrie Rodman Weddings!

As guests arrived via Newport Wedding Trolleys they were greeted with signature “Spiced Pear” Martinis and delicious bites from The Chanler.  Multiple tastings occurred to be sure the menu was just perfect, unique and different from the wedding night.

An AMAZING golf grooms cake was created by Confectionery Designs and had a golf cart with the grooms name on the license plate, multiple holes with flags and even a sand trap with rake (see gallery of images for detail shots) and to top it off Raina Dawn Events worked with Stoneblossom and Confectionery to provide a bed of wheat grass for the base- how fabulous!

The Poellnitz Family who hosted this fabulous event and the mother-of-the-groom who put her heart and soul into executing the gorgeous decor with all the vendors.  Check out the  custom designed “P” logo (for Poellnitz), the married couples name, on everything from the napkins to the cigars labels!

The bride’s family looking gorgeous and excited for the entire weekend of events!

Stoneblossom was brought on for the florist for not only the wedding, but this event as well.  They spent endless hours working with Raina Dawn Events & the mother-of-the-groom on coming up with the gorgeous florals, decor, sculptures, bar sculpture, table settings, lounge areas, florals… you name it!  And boy did they WOW everyone!  It could not have been more stunning and unique, not to mention the amount of florals, labor and creativity that went into this event was magnificent!  Everyone from Joyce to Dennis and their entire team out did themselves with this one!  The gorgeous view with beautiful lounge seating areas and cocktail tables perfect designed and blended into the lawn for guests to sit and relax during cocktail and enjoy the view!

The mother-of-the-groom was searching for something more than music to entertain the guests, especially her groom son and his friends… suggested by the wedding planners, she agreed that Boston Cigar Factory would be the perfect choice & not only the men enjoyed the cigars.  Each cigar had a custom label logo “P” and extras were rolled for the men to enjoy later into the evening and take home as favors!

Caroline with her groom and the groomsmen, enjoying their cigars and signature martinis during cocktail hour!

As pictured on the left, Stoneblossom created this gorgeous floral orchids & ferns, with mirrors and a moss lined bed for the escort cards was fixed outside the tent for guests to find their seats inside the tent for the reception.  Again a beautiful and super original escort card table display.  Each escort card was done in charcoal hand calligraphy on matching paper to the other paper pieces of the event.

Raina Dawn Events provided the pashminas, Stoneblossom the display and Kyle Fine Stationery the adorable sign- leave it up to the mother-of-the-groom to come up with the cute saying!  It was perfect for all the ladies as it was cool during cocktails and there wasn’t one pashmina left!

One of the luxury seating areas with furniture rentals from Rentals Unlimited and Stoneblossom design!

More seating and louange furniture was positioned on the terrace for cocktail hour and after the reception near the bar.  It blended it perfectly and was modern and fresh with the perfect accessories.  Again, a masculine feel was of importance to the mother-of-the-groom, but yet to still feel it worked with The Chanler and coastal surroundings.

The terrace for cocktails had beautiful soft linens with gorgeous orchids and tied all to match.  The custom designed bar (see more images in the gallery) was a huge statement piece on the terrace- does it get more fabulous!  Stoneblossom rocked with this floral sculpture of terms and branches with red burgundy orchids dripping from it- simply awesome and so original!  Ormonde Productions was also brought in to do all the draping and lighting and they went above and beyond for this event.  The swags of fabric on the terrace so feted the entire look along with the drapes around the perimeter to transform the terrace.

Not only were “Spiced Pear” martinis on the signature cocktail list, but an array of Martinis were offered!  A custom designed and hand calligraphy menu was displayed so guests could take their pick!  Of course the cocktail napkins (see subtle on right) the “P” was blind embossed onto all of the cocktail napkins!

This may look natural like this Venus sculpture actually is always there, but actually this was brought in to flank the entrance of the tent along with her partner Neptune on the other side (see gallery of images)  Stoneblossom again mesmerized us with their creativity on this one and collaboration with mother-of-the-groom to rent from Aardvark Antiques these two awesome sculptures and dressed them up with greens and these beautiful burgundy again to match the decor and fit right into it’s surroundings, but make a serious statement for the entrance!

And that was just the beginning, guests entered this breathtaking Newport Tent that was draped and lit by none other than Ormonde Productions!  Tony also provided the custom designed and cut Full mirrored table tops that were made just for this event!  The fortune lamps were purchased by the mother-of-the-groom and flown to Tony to be used in the tent for an original lighting display.  The draping was soft and elegant and whimsical.

Everything reflected off the mirrored table tops and every table had different centerpieces running down the tables with gorgeous drift wood (again masculine touches and coastal feel) with orchis and candles and florals just purring everywhere, along with the hints of red and burgundy Stoneblossom designed.

Each place setting had the custom neptune blind embossed emblem that was on each menu card and invitation sent out.  Every place setting had rented beautiful linens, stemware, silverware, glass metallic chargers with beautiful china that was coordinated and chosen.  Each place setting had a grey stone, each different to hold the menu in place, again a masculine touch.  Rentals were provided by Rentals Unlimited, Rhode Island Rentals and Classic Party Rentals.

Special garland was designed by Stoneblossom for the bride and groom chairs, just love the hint of burgundy orchids for the bride and celadon for the groom to match perfectly with the fruitwood chairs and surrounds with the fortune lamps as perfect accents!

Table numbers were also on the handmade paper with the rough edges and the charcoal hand calligraphy!

A very special custom menu was created by The Chanler’s head chef and each menu card was engraved and perfectly designed to match all the paper pieces.

As the sun set the guests enjoyed the entertainment of Lois Vaughun Jazz and the amber light warmed the tent as toasts went on to the bride & groom.

The bride & groom enjoying all the toasts and ready for their big day!

The upper terrace was glowing for the cocktails after the reception with candles flanking walkways… and the setting in the evening was simply magical!

To top it off Mike Cyr of Buzz Media filmed the entire event- be sure to watch you won’t want to miss this!!

Also, be sure to view the entire gallery and vendors involved for even more inspiration! Thanks Caroline & Withers for sharing your event with us.  Be sure to check back for a look at their big day!
